Matthew

4: 4Then he answered, "It is written, 'One does not live by bread alone, but (alla) by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
5: 15No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but (alla) on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
5: 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but (alla) to fulfill.
5: 39Then I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But (alla) if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also;
6: 13And do not bring us to the time of trial, but (alla) rescue us from the evil one.

11: 8But (alla) what did you go out to see? Someone dressed in soft robes? Look, those who wear soft robes are in royal palaces.

18: 22Jesus said to him, "Not seven times, but (alla), I tell you, seventy seven times.

11: 11After saying this, he told them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but (alla) I am going there to awaken him."

16: 4But (alla) I have said these things to you so that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you about them. "I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
16: 6But (alla) because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts.
16: 7But (alla) I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; then if I go, I will send him to you.
16: 12"I still have many things to say to you, but (alla) you cannot bear them now.
16: 13When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but (alla) will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
16: 20Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, then the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but (alla) your pain will turn into joy.
16: 25"I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but (alla) will tell you plainly of the Father.
16: 33I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But (alla) take courage; I have conquered the world!"
17: 9I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world, but (alla) on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours.

19: 24So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but (alla) cast lots for it to see who will get it." This was to fulfill what the scripture says, "They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast lots."
19: 34But (alla), one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once blood and water came out.
20: 7and the cloth that had been on Jesus' head, not lying with the linen wrappings but (alla) rolled up in a place by itself.
20: 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but (alla) believe."
21: 8Then the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but (alla) only about a hundred yards off.
21: 23So the rumor spread in the community that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but (alla), "If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?"

Acts

1: 4While staying with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem, but (alla) to wait there for the promise of the Father. "This," he said, "is what you have heard from me;
1: 8But (alla) you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

4: 17But (alla) to keep it from spreading further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name."
4: 32Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but (alla) everything they owned was held in common.
5: 4While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but (alla) to God!"
5: 13None of the rest dared to join them, but (alla) the people held them in high esteem.
7: 39Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him, but (alla) they pushed him aside, and in their hearts they turned back to Egypt,

10: 41not to all the people but (alla) to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
13: 25And as John was finishing his work, he said, 'What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but (alla) one is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the thong of the sandals on his feet.'
15: 11But (alla), we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will."
15: 20but (alla) we should write to them to abstain only from things polluted by idols and from fornication and from whatever has been strangled and from blood.
16: 37Then Paul replied, "They have beaten us in public, uncondemned, men who are Roman citizens, and have thrown us into prison; and now are they going to discharge us in secret? Certainly not! But (alla) let them come and take us out themselves."
18: 9One night the Lord said to Paul in a vision, "Do not be afraid, but (alla) speak and do not be silent;
18: 21but (alla) on taking leave of them, he said, "I will return to you, if God wills." Then he set sail from Ephesus.
19: 2He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?" They replied, "But (alla) we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
19: 26You also see and hear that not only in Ephesus but (alla) in almost the whole of Asia this Paul has persuaded and drawn away a considerable number of people by saying that gods made with hands are not gods.
19: 27And there is danger not only that this trade of ours may come into disrepute but (alla) also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be scorned, and she will be deprived of her majesty that brought all Asia and the world to worship her."
20: 24But (alla) I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace.
21: 13Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but (alla) even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."
21: 24Join these men, go through the rite of purification with them, and pay for the shaving of their heads. Thus all will know that there is nothing in what they have been told about you, but (alla) that you yourself observe and guard the law.
26: 16But (alla) get up and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you to serve and testify to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you.
26: 20but (alla) declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout the countryside of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God and do deeds consistent with repentance.
26: 25Then Paul said, "I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but (alla) I am speaking the sober truth.
26: 29Paul replied, "Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that not only you but (alla) also all who are listening to me today might become such as I am - except for these chains."
27: 10saying, "Sirs, I can see that the voyage will be with danger and much heavy loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but (alla) also of our lives."

1 John

2: 2and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but (alla) also for the sins of the whole world.
2: 7Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but (alla) an old commandment that you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word that you have heard.
2: 16for all that is in the world - the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches - comes not from the Father but (alla) from the world.

4: 1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but (alla) test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
4: 10In this is love, not that we loved God but (alla) that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
4: 18There is no fear in love, but (alla) perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
5: 6This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but (alla) with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one that testifies, for the Spirit is the truth.
5: 18We know that those who are born of God do not sin, but (alla) the one who was born of God protects them, and the evil one does not touch them.

2 John

1: 1The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not only I but (alla) also all who know the truth,
1: 5And now, dear lady, I ask you, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but (alla) one we have had from the beginning, let us love one another.
1: 8Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but (alla) may receive a full reward.
1: 12Although I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink; but (alla) I hope to come to you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.

3 John

1: 9I have written something to the church; but (alla) Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority.
1: 11Beloved, do not imitate what is evil but (alla) imitate what is good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.
