Verb aphanizō (to make disappear) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)

Matthew

6: 16"And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they make their faces disappear (aphanizō) so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
6: 19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust make them disappear (aphanizō) and where thieves break in and steal;
6: 20but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust make them disappear (aphanizō) and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Acts

13: 41'Look, you scoffers! Be amazed and disappear (aphanizō), for in your days I am doing a work, a work that you will never believe, even if someone tells you.'"
