Verb ballō (to throw, put, lie) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)

Matthew

3: 10Even now the ax is lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown (ballō) into the fire.
4: 6saying to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw (ballō) yourself down; for it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you,' and 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.'"
4: 18As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting (ballō) a net into the sea for they were fishermen.
5: 13"You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown (ballō) out and trampled under foot.
5: 25Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court with him, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown (ballō) into prison.

John

3: 24John, of course, had not yet been thrown (ballō) into prison.

Acts

16: 23After they had given them a severe flogging, they threw (ballō) them into prison and ordered the jailer to keep them securely.
16: 24Following these instructions, he put (ballō) them in the innermost cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
16: 37But Paul replied, "They have beaten us in public, uncondemned, men who are Roman citizens, and have thrown (ballō) us into prison; and now are they going to discharge us in secret? Certainly not! Let them come and take us out themselves."
22: 23And while they were shouting, throwing (ballō) off their cloaks, and tossing dust into the air,
27: 14But soon a violent wind, called the northeaster, was thrown (ballō) from Crete.

1 John

4: 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love throws (ballō) out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
