11: 2When John heard in prison (desmōtērion) what the Messiah was doing, he sent word by his disciples

Acts

5: 21When they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and went on with their teaching. When the high priest and those with him arrived, they called together the council and the whole body of the elders of Israel, and sent to the prison (desmōtērion) to have them brought.
5: 23"We found the prison (desmōtērion) securely locked and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside."
16: 26Suddenly there was an earthquake, so violent that the foundations of the prison (desmōtērion) were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened.
