Noun dōma (roof) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Matthew

10: 27What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the roof (dōma).
24: 17the one on the roof (dōma) must not go down to take what is in the house;

Mark

13: 15the one on the roof (dōma) must not go down or enter the house to take anything away;

Luke

5: 19but finding no way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof (dōma) and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the middle of the crowd in front of Jesus.
12: 3Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the roof (dōma).
17: 31On that day, anyone on the roof (dōma) who has belongings in the house must not come down to take them away; and likewise anyone in the field must not turn back.

Acts

10: 9About noon the next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof (dōma) to pray.
