Matthew

6: 2"So whenever you give alms (eleēmosynē), do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
6: 3But when you give alms (eleēmosynē), do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
6: 4so that your alms (eleēmosynē) may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Luke

11: 41So give for alms (eleēmosynē) those things that are within; and see, everything will be clean for you.
12: 33Sell your possessions, and give alms (eleēmosynē). Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
