Noun Ēlias (Elijah) in the New Testament

Matthew

11: 14and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah (Ēlias) who is to come.
16: 14And they said, "Some say John the Baptist, but others Elijah (Ēlias), and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
17: 3Suddenly there appeared to them Moses and Elijah (Ēlias), talking with him.
17: 4Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if you wish, I will make three dwellings here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah (Ēlias)."
17: 10And the disciples asked him, "Why, then, do the scribes say that Elijah (Ēlias) must come first?"
17: 11He replied, "Elijah (Ēlias) is indeed coming and will restore all things;
17: 12but I tell you that Elijah (Ēlias) has already come, and they did not recognize him, but they did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man is about to suffer at their hands."
27: 47When some of the bystanders heard it, they said, "This man is calling for Elijah (Ēlias)."
27: 49But the others said, "Wait, let us see whether Elijah (Ēlias) will come to save him."

Mark

6: 15But others said, "It is Elijah (Ēlias)." And others said, "It is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old."

Luke

1: 17With the spirit and power of Elijah (Ēlias) he will go before him, to turn the hearts of parents to their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
4: 25But the truth is, there were many widows in Israel in the time of Elijah (Ēlias), when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a severe famine over all the land;
4: 26yet Elijah (Ēlias) was sent to none of them except to a widow at Zarephath in Sidon.

1: 21And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah (Ēlias)?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" He answered, "No."
1: 25They asked him, "Why then are you baptizing if you are neither the Messiah, nor Elijah (Ēlias), nor the prophet?"

Romans

11: 2God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says of Elijah (Ēlias), how he pleads with God against Israel?

James

5: 17Elijah (Ēlias) was a human being like us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.
