(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)
Matthew
| 11: 17 | 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not beat (koptō) [your breasts].' |
| 21: 8 | A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut (koptō) branches from the trees and spread them on the road. |
| 24: 30 | Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat (koptō) [their breasts], and they will see 'the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven' with power and great glory. |
Mark
| 11: 8 | Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut (koptō) in the fields. |
Luke
| 8: 52 | They were all weeping and beating (koptō) [their breasts] for her; but he said, "Do not weep; for she is not dead but sleeping." |
