Verb periballō (to clothe) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Matthew

6: 29yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed (periballō) like one of these.
6: 31Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'In what will we clothe (periballō) ourselves?'
25: 36I was naked and you clothed (periballō) me, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.'
25: 38And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and clothed (periballō) you?
25: 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe (periballō) me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.'

Mark

14: 51A certain young man was following him, clothed (periballō) in a linen cloth [body] over his naked. They caught hold of him,
16: 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, clothed (periballō) in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

Luke

12: 27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed (periballō) like one of these.

John
