Verb potizō (to give to drink) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Matthew

10: 42and whoever gives to drink (potizō) even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple - truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward."
25: 35for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me to drink (potizō) something, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
25: 37Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you to drink (potizō) something?
25: 42for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me to drink (potizō) nothing,
27: 48At once one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to drink (potizō) to him.

Mark

9: 41For truly I tell you, whoever gives you to drink (potizō) a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ will by no means lose the reward.
